MEDICAL DIRECTOR/PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR

Derek Muse, MD

Dr. Muse graduated from Brigham Young University in 1981 with a BA in Chemistry. He attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. He then completed a three year residency in Family Medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona in 1989. He opened Highland Family Practice in 1989 at it’s present location and has been with the practice through it’s years of growth. After doing clinical research at Highland Family Practice for 9 years, Dr. Muse opened Highland Clinical Research in January of 2008.

Dr. Muse is the medical director for Advanced Medical Weight Loss and is a Board Certified Obesity Specialist.

Dr. Muse is also the medical director for Rejuvenate Medical Spa.

Dr. Muse is married to Emily Swallow Muse and has 7 children. He spends most of his free time with his family, but during the few remaining moments left each week, he enjoys cooking, ballroom dancing, hiking, throwing pottery and writing fictional novels.
